pH value

Hello everyone; what is the pH value of clownfish? What materials can be used to adjust the pH value? Thank you!

Why would you try to change your pH value for your fish? It really doesn't matter, unless you have some crazy high or low pH values, but that would point to other issues in your tank.

If your other parameters are within the recommended ranges, your pH will very likely be fine for the fish in your tank. Most people do not alter their pH at all, even in tanks with stony corals, let alone fish-only systems...

Looking at your previous topics, did you use edible salt? Using a salt that only contains NaCl and dissolving that in RO water, will give you saltwater without any pH buffering capacities.

I think you meant “for” clownfish what is causing the confusion. I would say 8.0 - 8.4 is fine. Increase: more fish, less oxygen, more waste/food. Decrease add room plants and good ventilation. Values in morning and evening fluctuate what is normal.

Just take it as it is and monitor for stability. That is much more important that a specific value. If you want to optimise to the max that is possible for your situation, make sure you have a good working skimmer (oxygen addition and co2 expelling), and ventilate your room properly. Just a sidenote: you are entering a hobby that thrives on stability, turning the knobs to influence the settings your aquarium settles on by itself introduces risks and dangers for inhabitants. Make sure you study, plan and act deliberately as this is no hobby for trial and error.
